You do not have to finish a painting in one sitting. Start with a comfortable workspace, a design you enjoy, and enough time to try a few sections. The goal is a little time spent making something.
Choose your design
Our first collection features nature-inspired Elle Crée kits: Fox with Chicory for a woodland theme, and Oregon Wildflowers for a botanical theme. Both use an 8 × 10-inch canvas and take approximately 3–5 hours in total. Choose the picture you would enjoy seeing in your space; we have not rated one as easier than the other.
Know what comes in the box
Each kit includes the printed, unmounted canvas, eight paint colors, two brushes, and instructions. A frame is not included. These kits are recommended for ages 13 and up.
Set up a small painting spot
- Choose a flat surface with good lighting and protect it from paint.
- Keep the included instructions beside you and read them before starting.
- Have water for rinsing brushes and a cloth or paper towel nearby.
- Keep food and drinks away from your painting supplies.
Make the first session manageable
Set aside a short block of time, such as 30–45 minutes, to get familiar with the canvas and paint a few numbered areas. Follow the kit instructions for matching colors, using the paint, and cleaning the brushes. You can return to the remaining sections another day.
Before packing up, clean your brushes as directed, close the paint containers, and put the canvas somewhere it can dry undisturbed. Keep the reference material with the kit so your next session is easy to begin.
Planning a painting night for two?
Plan on a separate kit for each person who wants their own finished painting. Kits are sold individually. Set out enough workspace for both canvases, and let each person choose their own pace.
Giving a kit as a gift?
Check the age recommendation, delivery estimate, and kit contents before ordering. This is a project to paint, not a finished framed print. If a frame is part of your gift idea, arrange it separately after checking the finished artwork and the frame's sizing requirements.
Shipping charges and available delivery estimates appear at checkout. We cannot promise delivery by a particular gift date.
